Catalytic Purification

Our research efforts are focusing on the topics related to Advanced Oxidation Technologies for application in drinking water and wastewater remediation. The main emphasis of our research is to prepare a series of novel environmental-purification materials, including highly efficient catalysts and adsorbent, for eliminating different pollutants and pathogenic microorganism, and investigate the transformation and fate of pollutants during the water treatment in order to develop highly efficient technology for water purification. In addition, we also concentrate on the photochemistry of organic contaminants in natural water, and its effects on the water quality.

Research Interests

● Preparation of highly effective environmental-purification materials, mechanism of heterogeneous catalytically eliminating refractory organic contaminations, and development of highly efficient advanced treatment technologies for water purification.

● Preparation of multifunctional disinfectants for eliminating pathogenic microorganism and the development of highly effective disinfection technologies.

● Preparation of adsorbent for toxic inorganic anion such as arsenic and fluorine and development of the highly effective adsorption-desorption water treatment technology.

● Photochemical behavior of emerging organic contaminants in natural water.
